Supporting Students on University Programmes

If you are a student who is struggling with the requirements that comes with learning in a higher education setting, then we can help. Students who can benefit from our service include those who just want help every now and then, to those who require regular help to manage the workload, pressures and challenges they face pursuing their goals. Additionally, students who have a diagnosed condition or disability would greatly benefit from such support.

At The Learning Support Service we recognise the daily pressures that many students face when pursuing a degree course of study. Many students report struggles particularly with:

  • Planning and preparation of dissertation, essays and academic reports
  • Developing academic tone in their work
  • Developing critical thinking and applying analysis to tasks
  • Structuring research activities and incorporating it into their work
  • Supporting you to achieve your goals...

Furthermore, students also report feelings of poor confidence in their ability to cope with university life, issues with motivation and weak organisational skills. These factors increase the chances of students leaving their degree programme, when it does not need to be that way when help is available.

Whilst the pressures of life is normal, our mentoring facility exists to support your studies. It can help you find solutions to problems encountered, manage deadlines more efficiently and develop you as an individual in an academic sense. We can also help you to adjust to university life, achieve your targets and become more organised, often factors that contribute to stress and anxiety. We support all individuals including those with a specific difficulty or disability.
